Instructions for Use
The cold-curing permanently hard material for denture retention of keeper caps (housings) is simple and easy to use for direct as well as indirect pick-ups. The material is in liquid form and contains no methylmethacrylates, thus minimising the risk of allergies and irritation of the mucosa. The set additionally contains an adhesive to achieve a permanent and stable bond.
Fields of application
Hard, permanent total or partial pick-ups to retain keeper caps in a partial or complete denture
Application
1. Preparation of the denture
Check occlusion and carry out corrections if necessary. Clean denture thoroughly with a brush and dry. Roughen the relief area, then clean and dry. Insulate all areas that are not to be adhered to (e.g. artificial teeth, labial and buccal areas beyond the roughened surface) with Vaseline to avoid unwanted contact with the cold-curing permanently hard pick-up material.
Clasps, anchors, and attachments of partial dentures have to be blocked out with thin flowing silicone or wax with a low melting point.
2. Application of the adhesive
Exchange the transportation cap against the brush cap. Remove cap, insert brush and uniformly apply adhesive to all surfaces of the appliance where acrylic is to be used. Let dry in the open air for approximately thirty seconds. Caution: Close the bottle tightly immediately after use and store in upright position.
Important: For a safe bond use only the provided adhesive for the cold-curing permanently hard pick-up material.
3. Preparation of the safety cartridge
Place the cartridge with the material into an extruder gun with a suitable plunger. Slight differences in the filling level of the chambers may occur. Therefore, remove the transport cap from the cartridge and extrude material from both chambers, delivering them uniformly. Then attach and lock the mixing tip with a 90° turn. The material will extrude and automatically mix in the correct ratio after the user presses the extruder gun lever. After use leave the mixing tips on the cartridge or use the transport cap.
4. Application of the cold-curing permanently hard pick-up material for denture pick-ups
Apply the material evenly into the base of the denture and also the areas where retention of the keeper cap is desired. Remove any excess with a suitable instrument. Reinsert denture and have the patient exert slight pressure in occlusal position for one minute, then carry out functional, chewing and swallowing movements for two minutes. Take steps to see that no material flows into the patient’s throat.
4.1 Removal of excess material
Excess material can be removed intra or extra orally before final polymerization.
Intraorally: Remove excess material after three minutes (beginning of application) with a suitable instrument. Let the denture cure for an additional two to three minutes in the patient’s mouth until the material is completely cured.
5. Finishing
To obtain optimal results, the complete picked-up surface (also basal) should be treated by appropriate finishing (tungsten carbide bur, silicone polisher) and polishing (polishing paste, polishing disc).

Indications, precautionary measures:
- Store adhesive bottle carefully closed and in an upright position.
- Avoid contact of adhesive with skin. Rinse contacted parts of the skin thoroughly with soap and water.
- In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water and consult an ophthalmologist immediately. The cold-curing permanently hard pick-up material contains benzoylperoxide (catalyst), hydroxethylmethacrylate and dichlormethane (adhesive). Do not use in cases of patient hypersensitivity (e.g. allergies) to these ingredients.
- The stated time periods refer to a room temperature of 25°C and a temperature in the patient’s mouth of 35°C. (Polymerization will be slower at lower temperatures; higher temperatures will accelerate polymerization.)
- Storage condition: 15-25°C.
Cleaning:
Dentures picked up with the cold-curing permanently hard pick-up material can be cleaned with the usual cleansers and procedures. This refers to domestic as well as professional cleaning.
