The clinical and histological results of two cases demonstrating retrieved Sendax mini-dental implants in two different patients is the focus of this report. The mini-dental implants were inserted using the auto-advance technique and loaded immediately. The implants were retrieved at 4 months following insertion and 5 months following insertion and were prepared and reviewed histologically.

This article describes a novel technique for the placement of MDI’s for long term prosthetic stabilization. Because the procedure for placing these implants is minimally invasive, they can be used in patients who would normally be considered high risk (eg patients on anticoagulant or steroid therapy). In addition, the general dentist can master this technique with minimal training and surgical experience, significantly expanding his or her armamentarium.
