Instructions for Use
This is an A-silicone based permanently soft relining material.
The autopolymerizing, cold-curing properties guarantee a simple and quick application. It is ideal for chair-side preparation of soft relinings.
The set contains an adhesive liquid to perform the strong bond between prosthesis and relining. It also contains the relining material itself as well as Glazing base and catalyst for smoothing rough surfaces. It is suitable for all PMMA – based dentures
Fields of application
Permanently soft relining of total and partial prostheses.
- To lessen the load on a mini implant after initial insertion
- To relieve pressure from pressure points
- To dam the palatal vibrating line in cases of flabby ridge and insufficient adhesion
- To cushion sharp-edged alveolar processes
- To support the healing process in implantology
Application
Carefully clean the prosthesis with a brush and dry. Always remove any existing previous relining material. Grind down denture base at least 1 mm, roughen buccal and lingual surfaces in a height of about 3 –4 mm, round off the rims of the denture. Clean denture and dry by air, then degrease with Degreaser and let aerate for 1 minute. Apply a thin coat of adhesive to the surface, which is to retain the relining material. Attention: Close bottle immediately and store in an upright position.
Mixing Relining Material in Tubes: Equal lengths of relining material base and catalyst paste to be mixed. Close tubes immediately after use. Do not mix the screw caps. Mix paste homogeneously approx. 30 – 45 seconds without including air bubbles. Afterwards apply with a spatula.
Application Relining Material in Cartridges: Any extruder gun with a suitable plunger can be used. Slight differences regarding the filling quantity of both cartridge chambers may be observed for technical reasons. Therefore, remove cartridge cap after placing the cartridge into the extruder gun and squeeze out material until it is delivered uniformly. Fix mixing tip and squeeze out material by actuating the grip. The material is automatically and completely mixed in the correct ratio in the mixing tip. After use, do not remove the mixing tip from the cartridge. Prior to next application, check the cartridge opening and remove cured material, if necessary.
Apply the mixed material first to the lingual, then to the buccal rim. Then coat the basic surface. On areas to be relined, the relining material should be at least 2 mm in thickness.
Direct relining in the mouth:
- All areas of the prosthesis with contact to the tissue should be coated with the soft relining material. After approx. 1 minute the prosthesis can be inserted into the patient’s mouth.
- Ask the patient to gently close their mouth in normal occlusion (1 minute).
- Then the patient should carry out masticatory and swallowing movements (6 minutes).
- After approximately 7 minutes, the prosthesis can be removed out of the mouth.
- Important: Observe strictly the above- mentioned time intervals.
- Excess material should be removed carefully with a surgical knife or scissors.
The working time amounts to approx. 15 minutes.
Indirect relining through the laboratory:
When relining has to be worked out in the laboratory, isolate the plaster model after the relining of the prosthesis, fix the prosthesis into the articulator and put it together with the articulator into the pressure pot (35°C – 40°C) for 10 minutes.
Finishing of the relining:
Remove any excess material with a fine scissor or surgical knife. Grinding is recommended after 30 minutes (rest. after taking out of the pressure pot), e.g. with LISKO polishing disks (specification see paragraph indication below). Grinding at an earlier stage has to be carried out very carefully. Cooling can facilitate the finishing (e.g. cooling spray, refrigerator, etc.).
Sealing:
To seal and to smooth the treated surfaces use Glazing. Keep bottle in vertical position for better dosing. Mix equal quantity of drops of Glazing base and catalyst homogeneously with a disposable brush on a mixing slab. Apply the mixture with a brush in a thin layer onto the corresponding margins, i.e. on the fresh and dry cut and grinded areas. The setting time amounts to 10 minutes at room temperature. By using a pressure pot (35°C – 40°C) the setting time can be shortened to approx. 3 minutes.
Indications:
Only rough areas should be sealed with Glazing material to prevent the accumulation of food particles or discolorations.
Close bottles immediately after use: Glazing base = white top Glazing catalyst = red top
For grinding / polishing we recommend using polishing disks type LISKO, Art. No. 223 102, coarse, brown, as manufactured by Messrs. Erkodent / Germany or any other suitable burrs or polishing disks for flexible materials.
